Pet care services
I am proud to offer a range of professional pet care services across the Bedfordshire area, tailored to meet the individual needs of you and your pet. As a fully mobile service, I come directly to your home which allows your pet to remain in their own familiar environment, where they feel safest and most relaxed without the stress of transportation.
This approach is especially beneficial for pets who may experience anxiety in unfamiliar settings, such as the veterinary practice. This service is also beneficial for elderly pets that perhaps struggle to get in and out of the car or for owners who do not drive.
Nail clipping
I offer nail clipping services for a wide range of animals, including dogs, cats, small mammals (such as guinea pigs and rabbits), reptiles, and birds.
As a one-person team, I may occasionally need your gentle assistance in safely restraining your pet during the appointment. This can be discussed ahead of time to ensure everyone is comfortable and prepared.
I have experience working with nervous or reactive animals and always take a calm, patient approach to help make the process as stress-free as possible.
If at any point your pet shows signs of significant distress or becomes uncooperative, I will pause and reassess. I’m happy to suggest alternative options or techniques to help make the experience more positive over time.
Tick removal
I am competent and confident in the safe and efficent removal of ticks.
Using professional tick removal tools and practiced techniques, I ensure that the tick is removed in its entirety.
Ticks can pose significant health risks if left untreated. These parasites latch onto your pet and can feed for several days, growing from tiny lumps to creatures around the size of your little fingernail.
Ticks can carry diseases, including Lyme disease. Early removal of ticks reduces the chances of disease transmission, and the best prevention method is through routine tick treatments.
By combining professional expertise with the convenience of in-home service.
Matt removal
Whilst I am NOT a professional pet groomer and am unable to provide full grooming services, I have experience with providing assistance with shaving and removing large mats in long-haired dogs and cats.
Mats can be uncomfortable or even painful for pets, causing skin irritation or restricting movement if left untreated.
I understand that dealing with mats can be challenging, especially for pets who are anxious or sensitive to grooming.
Working in a familiar environment helps minimize stress and makes the process gentler and more manageable for your pet.
For a complete grooming experience, I recommend consulting a professional groomer.
Medication administration
I am able to adminster a variety of vet prescribed medications.
My experience as a qualified veterinary nurse means I have had plentiful experience and training in administering prescribed oral medicines (tablets/liquid), topical treatments (skin/ocular/aural), and injectable medications (such as insulin).
I am skilled in helping pets who may be nervous or reluctant to take their medicines, using gentle techniques to make the process as stress-free as possible. Providing these services in your home allows your pet to remain in a familiar, comfortable setting, which can greatly reduce anxiety and help maintain their wellbeing throughout their treatment.
